Where are you located?
Project Rocket Consulting is based in Rockville, Maryland, which is located 15 miles (24 km) north of Washington, DC and 30 miles (48 km) southwest of Baltimore. Services are available remotely nationwide and travel to worksites can be negotiated as needed.
What services do you offer?
Project Rocket can provide a variety of services to organizations with an emphasis on social impact. Available services include:
Grant and fundraising support including topic research, prospect research, program development, proposal writing/, and reports;
Professional and scholarly research, writing, and editing;
Development and presentation of training materials;
Consultation and training on cultural competency and diversity, especially regarding LGBTQ+ individuals;
Consultation and training on professional ethics and leadership.

How are services provided?
I serve as an independent contractor and offer flexibility on the scope and terms of our partnership based on your organization’s needs and budget. Project Rocket can provide short-term support on a specific project or I can serve as an extra support for your internal staff on an ongoing basis. Services are typically provided remotely, but on-site visits can be negotiated as needed.
What are your qualifications?
I have over 25 years of professional experience, which includes public safety, education, and grant management. I earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology from The University of Tennessee - Knoxville with specializations in Criminology, Political Economy, and Social Justice. I also earned a Master of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Police Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. I also possess graduate hours in clinical social work through the University of Tennessee. Scholarly interests include criminal justice ethics, restorative and transformative justice, social change, narrative analysis, and qualitative research methods.
I have over 15 years of experience as a professional trainer and college professor, experience that has provided in-depth knowledge on a wide range of topics that are of relevance to social impact organizations and related businesses. I have over four years of experience in grant writing and consulting working with clients in education, public health, physical sciences, and public safety. Additionally, I engage in ongoing professional development activities including courses on grant management and nonprofit management. I am happy to discuss my qualifications with you and provide insight on how my knowledge and expertise can help your organization.
Throughout my career, I have focused on developing my skills and expertise on topics including ethics, leadership, social structure, and social change.
